The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place in Los Angeles at Staples Center on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, and will air live on the CBS Television Network from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). American Hi-Fi’s new album, “Fight The Frequency” came out today. If you don’t already know, Stacy Jones and Jamie Arentzen make up half of the foursome. Singer, Stacy has been her Miley’s music director and drummer, while Jamie has been her guitarist. They’ve both been featured in everything and anything Miley, including the 2009 movie and “Best Of Both Worlds” concert film/DVD. The album marks the first new studio album from the band in over five years. Over the course of their 10-year career, American Hi-Fi has sold over 1 million albums thanks to hit singles such as the Top 10 smash “Flavor Of The Weak, ” “Another Perfect Day” (which was used as Coca-Cola’s theme for the 2002 Winter Olympics) and “The Art Of Losing, ” and they’ve toured the world with artists such as Elvis Costello, Matchbox Twenty, Bon Jovi and Fall Out Boy. My daughter has heard jokes as suggestive as anything Cyrus offered Monday night at kids’ movies such as “Madagascar, ” and saw racier images on the billboards hovering above Barham Boulevard on the drive to the club. Hannah Montana wasn’t too much of a hit in our house — my kid and her friends all prefer the snappier iCarly, and SpongeBob rules supreme. We never saw Cyrus’ movies. But we like her hits. “7 Things” kicks foolish-boy butt with a forgiving heart; “The Climb” shows her godmother Dolly’s influence. And “Party in the U.S.A.”? You haven’t really heard that song until a back seat full of kindergarteners has sung it to you.
